An advance team of the convoy of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Friday night was faced with a vehicular brunch at Kablipe, a village after Buipe upon their return to Accra.

The team was on the way to Tamale for an official engagement when this unfortunate incident happened.

Preliminary reports reveal that the vehicle in which the military officers were journeying whirled and landed in a wood lots on the main road in linkage to Buipe.

The driver identified as Seargent Zorwunu died on the spot while the other officers, Major Hansen Adu-Kofi and Captain Badawe Sabastian, sustained serious injuries.

The accident occurred a day after Vice President Bawumia assumed control over the reigns of the country following the 10-day trip of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo
