The CEO of Ziblit Green Logistics Gh. Ltd and aspiring Ablekuma North Constituency Secretary, Mr. Frederick Green, has casted a positive justification for the E-levy tax measure which is currently undergoing deliberations.
In an interview with a section of media officials, he disclosed that the e-levy tax is of high significance because every economy thrives on tax for financing development. He further indicated that the e-levy when passed will help boost revenue mobilization, and, consequently prevent Ghana from seeking IMF support, which has several economic consequences.
He counseled the opposition party to stop ranting in falsehood about the e-levy to the public as the objective for it will inure to the benefit of all.
“I want the NDC to come out clearly and tell the whole world that it shall scrap the e-levy when voted into power in the future”, he stated.
He touched another tangent of the strong resistance the e-levy is facing from the opposition to be mischievous, the reason of which he said, is due to the tendency it holds to help government transform the economy in its credibility. He further opined that the introduction of the e-levy will help widen the tax net.
“The opposition NDC is just throwing dusts into the eyes of Ghanaians with an attempt to prevent the Government unpopular ahead of the 2024 general elections,”
