National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Team Member, Lawyer Beatrice Annangfio has said that young people in Ghana do not get an erection because they do not have jobs.
Her comment comes on the back of the Upper East Regional Minister’s comment on the 24-hour economy, suggesting that men will not have enough s*x if the policy is implemented.
Beatrice Annangfio who was speaking on Accra-based Metro TV indicated that the issues should not be trivialized but rather should be given the needed attention because it will address the country’s unemployment problems.
She said, “He gets per diem; he has a Landcruiser, so he is thinking about sex and objectifying women. The young people of this country cannot have an erection because they don’t have jobs, and if you don’t have jobs, you will not be thinking about sex. Romance without money is like a bother.
They should not reduce a deliberate policy to create jobs for the teeming unemployed young people…because they have money, he is thinking about having sex with his wife. What about young people who have not worked to be able to marry? What is the solution for them?
What about the 14% of people in the country who cannot think about s*x because they do not have the basic amenities of life, food, clothing, and shelter? So the government should not trivialize the discussion. This is a serious discussion, and you need to be someone who understands the pain of being unemployed. They shouldn’t sit in their land cruisers and say they want sex; we want food,” she said.
