President Akufo-Addo has announced that the government of Ghana has released $100 million dollars for coronavirus fight.
He made the announcement when he addressed the nation on Wednesday evening from the seat of government, Jubile House.
“I have directed the Minister for Finance, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta, to make available the cedi equivalent of $100 million to enhance Ghana’s Coronavirus preparedness and response plan” he said.
The money is to support the initial resources as response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
He indicated that the government has in place temperature detectors at the various entry points into Ghana to monitor entries.
The government had also equipped health officials and prepared them for any possible mercies and designated hospitals for any future cases.
He urged all citizens to abide by the guidelines given by health officers to prevent any casualty.
