A Parliamentary aspirant for the Tolon constituency of the Northern Region, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, has, at a brief but colourful ceremony in Tolon, assisted 100 Women with loans at virtually no interest rate. Each of the 100 Women obtained Ghc300 each to support or cushion their small scale businesses.
The women are expected to use 10 months to pay back for other women to benefit. At the end of each month each woman would pay GHc30.
The Voiceless Media was in Tolon to witness the presentation ceremony and can report that the women were eternally grateful to Hon. Habib Iddrisu for the philanthropist gesture done them.
The women promised to put the money into good use and also pay back so that other women can benefit from the kind gesture as well.
Speaking to The Voiceless Media, Hon. Iddrisu indicated that he decided to respond to an appeal the women made to him recently by organising this intervention for them.
Hon. Habib further explained that poverty alleviation will be one of his priorities for the Tolon constituency and hope to mobilise more interventions for the people aimed at empowering and making them employable.
It must be recalled that Hon. Habib Iddrisu in the past donated 200 plastic chairs, 4 canopies and a Motor King to the NPP in Tolon to support their social activities as part of strengthening the activities of the party in the constituency.
It must be noted that these gestures of Hon Habib Iddrisu have generated excitement among the people and seen as most commendable.
