On the 15th of February 2022, Mr. Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC, who is the Bono Regional Chairman for the NPP, was charged by the Police after making claims that former President John Dramani Mahama was plotting a coup.
The Ghana Police Command extended an invitation for some questioning to help in their investigation. According to a press release by the police, he was charged on two accounts: publication of false news and offensive conduct.
In effect, he was detained and arraigned to appear before the court. The case was adjourned to 9th March, 2022. Abronye Dc’s Lawyers pleaded for bail with the assurance that he will avail himself any time his presence will be called upon in court.
The plea for bail was received by the police, and he was granted GHS 100,000 bail with two sureties.
