The Northern Regional Youth Organiser of the NPP has condemned the acts of violence at the just ended EC limited registration in Tamale in a press release.

NORTHERN REGIONAL YOUTH WING CONDEMNS ACTS OF VIOLENCE AT THE OFFICE OF THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION IN TAMALE.
The New Patriotic Party in the Northern Region has noted with concern an attack on some members of the youth wing by an alleged NDC supporters of which one person sustained injuries and has since been on admission in Kabsad Hospital in Tamale.
The Youth Wing by this statement strongly condemns the shameful acts of violence that was allegedly perpetuated by thugs of the NDC against some of our members at the Tamale Metro Electoral Commission office and wish to describe same as very unfortunate and retrogressing. The EC since the start of this exercise in the region has made smooth progress without any serious hitches until yesterday when this unfortunate incident happened.
Let me state firmly that, our country under the watch of the NPP government has its laws working and for that matter, no person or group of persons can take the very laws that protect them and their freedoms into their own hands and violate it.The Electoral Commission’s work is an independent one and no person or group of persons would be allowed to interfere with it or carry out violent attacks against the EC officials or participants in the exercise and go off the hook of the law.
The unprovoked attack on the unarmed members of the youth wing has since been a shock to us and as we wait patiently for the police to carry out their investigations into the matter, Members of the Youth Wing are entreated to be extremely patient as we have always been for the police to get to the bottom of the matter.
We would cooperate with the law enforcing agencies as law abiding citizens and assist them with every bit of information required of us to unravel the perpetrators behind this shameful and condemnable act.
We however entreat our opponents to be civil and law abiding and desist from their penchant desire of always taken the law into their own hands as we have always seen in the Northern Region.
