New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Assin North Mr Benjamin Effah, has revealed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no chance in winning the by-election in the area because his party has already won the battle on grounds.
“We have already won the Assin North seat and that is the gospel truth”, Mr. Benjamin Effah is optimistic
He explained on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM in an interview that, in the 2020 elections, the NPP lost the parliamentary election but won the presidential elections meaning some of its members did not vote for their parliamentary candidate and insisted that the dynamics are going to change this time.
“I think Hon Gyakye Quayson won because some of our party members voted for him, but this time, we are all going to vote for our party people, no more skirt and blouse”, he disclosed.
He also accused the NDC candidate, Mr. James Gyakye Quayson for deceiving the constituents in the 2020 elections reasons for his victory.
According to him, the “people of Assin North voted for Mr. James Gyakye Quayson because of his deceitful message to our people, but now we have all seen who he really is”.
Mr. James Gyakye Quayson, Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially announced his intention to participate in the Assin North by-election scheduled for June 27.
Mr. Quayson’s parliamentary membership was revoked after the Supreme Court invalidated his election in the 2020 polls because, according to the Court, he owed allegiance to another country, Canada.
