The General Secretary of the Ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Justin Frimpong Koduah has said the party is embarking on a nationwide verification of its album to save time and also save the party from any future court injunctions. He emphasized that the party over the years has experienced some key mistakes in its album compilation where names of voters disappeared on the day of the election.
“All these things bring misunderstanding, hence after the election instead of focusing on campaigns we will be settling disputes among ourselves for reconciliation”, Mr Justin Frimpong Kodua said in an interview with Angel FM Kumasi.
He also acknowledged “We know some of these things can happen that is why we have been proactive and that is why NPP we are always the pacesetters”
According to him, the NDC is currently in court because the party wasn’t proactive in their dealings.
“If the NDC had made some of these arrangements, they wouldn’t have to be hauled before the court by now by Dr Kwabena Duffuor and others”. He stressed
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will from May 10, 2023, begin verification of constituency albums across the country ahead of the 2024 polls.
The Committee has until May 26, 2023, to complete the verification process and submit it to the Regional Executive Committee by May 31, 2023.
The NPP is preparing for its primaries ahead of the 2024 general elections. The party is expected to elect its parliamentary candidates for all constituencies across the country in the coming months. The verification exercise is expected to help the party to weed out any ineligible voters and ensure that only genuine members of the party participate in the primaries.
