Serial callers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region have sent a strong warning to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) against using their grievances as a political campaign against the NPP in the 2020 general elections 2020.
The Ashanti Regional Serial callers of the NPP last Thursday declared strike over hardship, forcing them to burn their phones and SIM cards to show the party leadership they are not at peace with them considering the treatment they get despite the contributions to the party.
The serial callers’ action has since generated heated argument between them and the minister of the Region, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah.
In related report, the Regional Minister mocked the serial callers saying even if their actions lead to his dismissal, he will not go hungry.
The aggrieved serial callers have also accused First Regional Vice Chairman of the party, Mr. Kwabena Nsenkyire of disrespecting them in a recent meeting with party leadership in the region.
The NPP has since assigned its National Youth Organizer Henry Nana Boakye to help the party resolve the impasse.
But speaking on Kumasi based Abusua FM Drive Time Show”, Kwabena Nyame the leader of the serial callers warned their main political opponents not to use their struggle with the leadership of their party as a campaign message against them in 2020.
“This one happens to everyone, it happens everywhere. The NDC should tell Ghanaians what they will do for them and not dwell on our grievances. They should not use our grievances as a campaign message”. He warned the NDC on the show hosted by Ike the Unpredictable monitored by MyNewsGh.com’ Syxtus Eshun.
This is not the first time NPP serial callers have declared strike action against the leadership in the region in this forth Republic.
During the leadership of Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, they undertook a similar action.
