A flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr.Spio Garbrah says his competitor John Mahama should not be given the nod to lead the party again after delegates rejected past Branch ,Constituency and Regional Executives who superintended the historic defeat of NDC in 2016.
Speaking on Ekosi Sen an afternoon political show on Asempa 94.7 fm on Tuesday, 9th October, 2018 said John Mahama has lost touch with Ghanaians and it will take a a new brand and candidate for NDC to win 2020 elections against the governing New Patriotic Party.
Dr.Spio Garbrah posited that, the Tsunami that took place during the grassroots elections show that majority of delegates want a new face to lead the NDC because the 2016 executives of NDC disappointed the party and didn’t work hard and smart for the retention of power.
Again, he said most of the past regional chairmen were displaying sycophantic tendencies toward Mahama and were not truthful to him that lead to most losing their regional chairmanship elections.
Dr. Spio Garbrah was of the view that, he stands the test of time to bring NDC back to the Flagstaff House to save Ghana from hardship.
The NDC is set for the Flagbearership election in December, 2018 to lead the party for the 2020 presidential elections in Ghana.
Spio Garbrah is not a green leaf when it comes to NDC presidential race. He contested against Prof.Atta Mills in December, 2006 and lost.
