The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has on the 3rd of March 2022, inaugurated the new governing board of the Ghana AIDS Commission.
The installation of the new governing board, as explained on the official Facebook Page of the Vice President, is held with the objective of ensuring that “the strategic goals of the National HIV and AIDS Plan 2021-2025 are achieved in line with the Sustainable Development Goals’ target of ending AIDS by 2030”.

The Vice President also stressed the need to track performance and accountability of the commission so that the greater goal will be inclusive of benefiting the greater majority. Touching on the tangent of financing the commission’s strategic activities, the Vice President urged the newly installed board to work closely with the Finance Ministry and other institutions whose activities stand a greater possibility of spreading HIV and AIDS so as to make financing a “shared responsibility”.
