Lead convener of #FixTheCountry Movement, Oliver Barker Vormawor arrived at the premises of the Tema High Court escorted by heavily armed policemen
Presiding judge, Daniel Mensah on Monday, March 14 told counsel for the activist as well as state prosecutors that although the court had made up its mind ample time was needed to make available the full ruling.
Asked how he was doing while he was being escorted into the courtroom, Oliver Barker Vormawor joked with journalists.
“You take pictures of me everyday but I don’t get my copy,” the activist responded.
The #FixTheCountry convener who has declared his readiness to go to trial will know his fate on whether he gets to spend more time in police custody.
On Tuesday, presiding Magistrate of the Ashaiman District Court, Eleanor Barnes declined an application to discharge him after his cited the absence of prosecutors in court as a sign of disinterest by the state.
Oliver Barker Vormawor is facing a charge of treason felony after he took to social media to threaten a coup following pictures emerging from the Majority Leader’s 65th birthday bash showing an ‘E-levy’-designed cake.
“If this E-Levy passes after this cake bullshit, I will do the coup myself. Useless Army!” the activist’s post read.
