According to them, they heard in the news on Friday evening that Alan Kyeremanten, a presidential hopeful of the ruling New Patriotic Party, had paid for all the nomination forms for all party members who would want to contest in the polling station elections.
“We heard it in the news yesterday in the evening but as I am speaking with you, no monies have been received from Alan Kyeremanten. We have reasons to believe that the news or information was false” a constituency officer in Ahafo said.
Another officer of the party in Bono also had this to say:
“We’ve been waiting for Alan’s money for the nomination forms since yesterday and it hasn’t come. It stands to reason that it is not true that he has paid for the forms” he emphasized.
According to other party officials who were spoken to by MyABCLive, it is that of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia that has been received.
“I can attest to the fact that we have received monies covering the nomination forms of all the incumbent polling station executives, and we are happy about it” he stated.
The NPP has opened nominations for its polling station executives across the country. The processes commenced on February 19, 2022 and it is expected to end on March 5, 2022.
