KFC Modern Restaurant Revamp Is Here, and It’s Bigger Than a New Logo

kfc modern restaurant revamp

The KFC modern restaurant or remodel is now available and it’s the largest brand revamp that the chain has done in years. It’s more than a facelift — KFC is overhauling its menu, sauces and beverages, and the layout of its restaurants. Maybe you experienced a few Freshened Up KFC products at home recently, or soon you will — here’s the full scoop on what’s changing (and why).

Why KFC Launched This Revamp

The competition for fast chicken has become more rigorous with newer, hipper brands competing for the same customers that KFC has catered to for decades. KFC is not playing the game of competing on price or speed alone — it’s going full throttle on what made the brand in the first place, bold flavor and a personality that differentiates itself from the rest. The vision of KFC Global CEO is “to elevate modern chicken in the quick-service world and inject new energy into the brand with an intensified focus on the chicken.” That’s the idea behind KFC’s contemporary restaurant revamp — new eats, new beverages, and restaurants that look and feel different the moment you walk in the door.

New Menu: More Sauces, More Customization

One major feature of the KFC now restaurant revamp is that customers can choose from more flavour options. KFC has launched over 20 sauces, mixing known comfort flavors with more daring options influenced by the world, so that consumers can make a plate that fits their mood instead of depending on a single flavor.

And for those who dream of all the taste and none of the toil, KFC is adding “dunked” tenders, wings and sandwiches — bathed in sauce for a richer, more decadent mouthful.

KWENCH: KFC’s New Drinks Lineup

KFC modern restaurant makeover: One of the biggest surprises is KWENCH by KFC — a new drinks menu featuring boba refreshers, milkshake-style krunch shakes, sparkling lemonades, and iced coffees. KFC is now a beverage destination, not just a chicken destination — just as coffee shops built loyalty around specialty drinks.

A Restaurant Redesign to Match

New eats and drinks only go so far when the dining room is still well past its prime. That’s why the KFC modern restaurant revamp is rolling out in the physical restaurants as well, placing new emphasis on hospitality rather than pure speed and efficiency. Two flagship stores symbolize the future:

  • McKinney, Texas — an open-concept restaurant that reinterprets KFC’s classic heritage with a modern layout and energy.
  • Dubai — a two-story, fully immersive restaurant described as one of the boldest expressions of KFC’s next-generation design.

Refreshed Branding, Same Roots

KFC’s modern restaurant revamp isn’t an escape from the brand’s identity—it’s a refreshing version of it. The classic bucket has been re-designed, and the Colonel has even had his look altered slightly. They want to be recognizable at a glance but feel more current in their packaging, online presence, advertising and stores.

Rollout Timeline: Where and When

The contemporary dining rethinking of KFC is being rolled out in waves, not all at once. Shoppers in the UK and Ireland can be the first to get the new tenders and nine bold sauces, alongside the updated branding across digital and marketing platforms. Then it’s Australia and the US, followed by more countries in 2026.

Why This Matters Beyond Fast Food

The contemporary remodel of KFC’s menu and restaurants reflects a trend in the fast casual dining space. Consumers now expect customization — build-your-own combos, custom sauces, drink options other than soda — and they want dining environments that feel purposeful, not just utilitarian. KFC is betting that variety of taste and atmosphere can be as potent a loyalty driver as price or convenience.

Bottom Line

KFC’s new restaurant design changes nearly everything about the customer experience, from the menu to how the food is served, what you can drink and the look of the restaurant. Whether this will result in customer loyalty in the long term may depend on how many of the restaurant locations get a makeover, but the message is clear: KFC isn’t relying on almost 100 years of brand recognition to get it into the future.
